Brushless external rotor motors for high-performance drones

Drones (UAVs) are unmanned aerial vehicles or aircrafts that now play an important role in numerous military applications in defense, security and surveillance technology in highly sensitive areas for armed forces and governments around the world. However, high-performance drones are also used in professional civilian applications, e.g., as agricultural drones, inspection drones, surveying drones, transport drones, or surveillance drones. The development of modern industrial and military high-performance drones by OEM manufacturers in this field is only possible with powerful components—these include, in particular, drone motors for heavy lift and propulsion. High efficiency, compact design, low weight, and high reliability are some of the requirements for drone motors.

 

The sensitivity of the various applications requires the highest level of integrity, precise product testing, and complete transparency in the development and manufacturing processes of OEM manufacturers. Our partner and motor manufacturer PMW Dynamics has therefore chosen Europe (UK) as the location for the development and manufacture of its powerful and fail-safe motors for the ADM series of drive and lift motors for high-performance drones.

  • windings optimized for 48 Vdc battery operation, other windings are possible
